About my new abode in Haldia

       My ecstasy is knowing no bounds to declare that now I am not even a passive member of the hostel. (By passive member, I mean to refer to the guys who dwell outside the hostel premises but they leave no avenue unexplored to embroil themselves in the politics & hullabaloo of hostel life.)This may hurt a minuscule number of my alter-egos but after a plethora of brain-storming & brain-washing sessions, I have decided to toe the line of the maxim “LEAVE ASIDE THE LOWER PRINCIPLES TO SAFEGUARD THE HIGHER ONES”

Kindly permit me to narrate an anecdote in support of the aforementioned maxim.

A Butcher was chasing a cow with a sword in his hand. A Brahmana who was taking bath in a pond –lying at a stone’s throw away from the place under discussion, looked on with a chill down his spine. Brahmana saw the cow taking a turn towards left but on being enquired about its whereabouts by the butcher; he pointed his index finger towards right.

Here the lower principle was to tell the truth and the higher principle was to save one’s life. To speak a lie is not befitting of a Brahmana but in the interest of a higher tenet, here he acts against the basic canon of morality.

 Switching off to my monotonous gossips:-

In my case, the lower principle was to stay in the association of classmates and relish the college life to its fullest.

The higher principle is to fall under the category of  Homo-sapiens. Yes! No surprises. To fall under the category of HOMO-SAPIENS. You picked it up correctly.

Notwithstanding the brevity of my stay in the hostel, I developed a legion of egregious habits. Bad habit is contagious & a great traveller. I started using abusive languages, smoking cigarettes, developed a cavalier attitude towards studies, spent a whopping amount of time playing cards & only GOD knows what else could have been in store had I planned to spend the remainder of journey in hostel itself. I have seen a good amount of our seniors(even the elite ones) taking to self destruction (doesn’t necessarily implies suicide) out of sufferings & melancholy.

So I have arrived at the conclusion that Hostel (esp. Boys, oblivious about girls) is a Hospital, not a Hotel. (Don’t take it literally, brood over it)To be more precise, this life is a hospital, not a hotel.

To mollify my apprehensions of being transformed into a species other than human being, I relinquished the official accommodation.

I have shifted to the building of Haldia voice. Now VOICE is a commodity known to only a handful of students so let me pen down a couple of lines to introduce you with it.

VOICE is an acronym for Vedic oasis for inspiration, culture and education. It is a bonafide organization which has its roots spread across prominent educational institutions across India such as BC ROY, IIT KGP, NIT JAMSHEDPUR, NIT DURGAPUR, MIT PUNE, JADAVPUR UNIVERSITY etc.

It aims at maintaining both spiritual & material life at a same speed(needless to say, at a jet propelled speed) and to emancipate the younger generation who are in Dire-straits.

Wait a minute and deeply ponder over the question mentioned below:

Q: why person ‘A’ is asking for the head & baying for the blood of person ‘B’?

Q: why are they involved in squabbles day in and day out?

Ans: Because ever since the dawn of civilization, we have tried to touch the feet of pinnacle in a flick of a second, come what may. In the process, we often make a bid to outsmart & underestimate others failing which we start taking to abominable acts such as abducting, looting, stabbing, flummoxing etc.

Solution: If person ‘A’ realizes that neither he nor ‘B’ is superior & the same realization dawns upon ‘B’, then by keeping supreme personality of godhead, Lord Sri Krishna  at the centre, they can perform their independent tasks with consummate ease. Then only this globe can become a better place to dwell.

That’s all we do here at VOICE.

Keep Lord Sri Krishna at the centre and relentlessly attempt at putting our best foot forward.

 The decision of joining voice is the crème de la crème of all the decisions hitherto and I am fully convinced that no any decision in the future will have potential enough to replace this one.
