Second Sem - soon going to become bygone
Hello guys
This is my maiden assay to pen down something right from the inner core of my heart.I was yearning for it since quite a time back but it was my diffidence that stood as a stumbling impediment each time I latched on to pen & paper.
Thanks to someone from my class who appeared as a divine in flesh for me and I found myself amidst an inspirational wave to emulate her.To get started is the most strenuous part while embarking on an uphill trek.
so here I go - unearthing the happenings of this Sem that took place hitherto.
It was jan 14,2013 on which I entered college precincts- all agog and in readiness to attend the classes right from the word go,but to my dismay I found a modicum 8 students warming the benches which comprised of 6 localites & 2 non-localites-with only Shubham and I ticking the non-localite box.
It seemed implausible for the classes to commence at that juncture,so I trudged back to my hostel with a heavy heart. However I along with a handful of students went to the chemistry lab in the second half to make our presence feel. There I met our chemistry teacher-Dr. G.Das,who gave us a piece of mind and told the DO's & Dont's at the outset.Seeing him for the first time,I thought he was worth his salt but my thinking only dwindled & whittled as the wheels of time rotated.Appearances are often deceptive. My belief on this old adage strengthened. It was only a fortnight later, when the quorum was established ,that the classes went about in full swing.Let me briefly describe about the faculties.
Barring our maths, electronics& to a some extent mechanics teacher,it seemed as if all other teachers had done their B-Tech from correspondence course and straightway landed into HIT to flummox the gullible students as a neophyte practitioner does to his patients in a newly opened govt. hospital.
MATHS TEACHER
He is amongst one of those teachers who resides in the good books of the student. He is an erudite & articulate person who does his business without much ado about nothing. His deft handling of the Laplace Transforms alleviated the abstruseness of the subject at a drop of a hat.He rises above & beyond the call of his bounden duty to make his pupils emerge out of the troubled waters..He rightly deserves all the plaudits that he is getting.
ELECTRONICS TEACHER
An another epitome of dedicated faculty who has a sound knowledge of her subject.Such is her fervent devotion to the noble profession, that she continues with her mind-boggling stuff for a good quarter of an hour even after the clock shows the time. She has earned the appellation of "CHILO MA'M" by the hapless Non-Bengalis who fail sometimes miserably to decipher her conversation. She has enough arsenal in her armoury to withstand the "PROXY" ammunition that students keep firing occasionally.
CHEMISTRY TEACHER
A little has been mentioned about him before and it does not require the knowledge of rocket science to fathom the remainder. He can at best be described as a handsome looking guy who dissimulates to be a sedulous person.I shouldn't be talking evil of him as it stands in poor taste, and more importantly because he is the man behind my ascension to the throne. One fine morning,Gautam came late and our sir had his issues with this suave guy earlier,so he took this opportunity - offered to him on a platter to make me the so-called C.R.
I still wonder what prompted him to do that!!!!!!!!!
Maybe my spectacles played a lion's share of role in turning things in my favour. The common attribute of mine & Sir (Procrastinating things to an eternity & spending a colossal amount of time without letting the people sitting right under your nose to have even an inkling that you are not industrious) may have helped the cause further. It came as a bolt from a blue to me & I was flabbergasted. I guess so were my comrades.Neither was I a student par excellence nor did I had a habit of ingratiating myself with the teacher.Without mincing my words,I personally think that Piyush has the most suited credentials to handle the responsibility .But now, when I am at the helm of affairs,I think that I have done reasonably well to do justice to this coveted post.
ELECTRICAL TEACHER
To acknowledge to the fact that she is a Guru below par, would be a travesty of truth & justice. As far as she is concerned, she has left no stone unturned to make the concepts crystal clear to us,but we pupil,in unison have failed in our attempt to take her modus-operandi in our stride. It is not that her style of teaching is antediluvian as that of our ME291 teacher, Mr.S.C (a samaritan septuagenarian, who is in the december of his life) but it is bereft of a rapport that should be present between a teacher & a taught. She rarely laughs.A suitable reward awaits for anyone who catches a glimpse of her mouth being wide open!!!!!!!!!
Moreover, her humdrum attire (the same pair of Salwar & jeans) adds to the ennui of the classroom proceedings.
COMPUTER TEACHER
The reverend P.Goswami has his own inimitable style of teaching quite akin to few batsman's style of batting (Dhoni,Gayle,De-Villers etc..) in the cricketing fraternity.I can hardly remember the instant when he has done a full-fledged C program on the board ,but he punches above his weight when confronted with a student personally. He shouts at the top his voice only to find his students mistaking C for a "Cramming language" instead of "Programming language".The two italicised words in the phrase 'Action speak louder than words' can be interchanged to describe his methodology-at best.He has an idiosyncratic habit of rubbing the board with his fingers sporadically while scribbling .His laidback attitude over the assignment has kept us on tenterhooks.
MECHANICS TEACHER
At the end of 1st semester, we were keeping our fingers crossed over the issue of ME201 teacher as the 1st sem had seen abysmal level of mechanics by Mr. Sincere(or scenario, profile, monitor). We heaved a sigh of relief on getting a shade better. We were introduced to ma'm a bit late as she was on a sabbatical.Right from day1,she appeared to be a lady of some mettle.Except while teaching, she heavily banks upon her vernacular language to converse. She must have skipped the Hindi grammar classes during her matriculation & at the senior secondary level to solve the herculean problems on Fluid Mechanics. Her dulcet voice & gorgeous looks lends an oozle of oomph to the ambience of classroom. She is our departmental teacher and we hope that she continues to regale us with her rich repertoire.
Now when the two internals has elapsed,It has dawned upon me that I am nowhere in the vicinity of even imitating my low percentile of 1st Sem. Let me wind up fast so that I can improve on my result and move into next semester with flying colours. It's too early to say.(baccha pet me hi hai aur uski shaadi ke baare me socha jaa raha hai)
Many many thanks to Rahul dev mandal, without whose support ,this would have been a far fetched reality. He did a Yeoman service by providing his laptop even in the wee hours.Plainly speaking, amongst the boys, I like him the most owing to his open-heartedness & affable nature.Amongst the girls,I like ................... oops!!!!!!. I shouldn't divulge it. Quite a sensitive issue.isn't it????
A bucket full of thanks to my own roommate Rajesh who had to go through the ordeal of reading my Hard copy. He was literally compelled to do so. poor fellow!!!!
An ultra big thank you to all and sundry who have painstakingly reached this far inspite of a feeling that kept you plaguing throughout to leave this dreary post midway.
PROMISING FOR A BETTER ONE IN MY NEXT POST....................
Good to see you kick-started with blogging!
ReplyDeleteIt was a good first post, i had immense fun in reading a guy's opinion about our class and its teachers. Your words tickled my funny bone many times, i couldnt help grinning over a few things.
And i SO KNEW it that you guys absolutely adoooored Sutapa mam!! we girls might have something to disagree over that tone you call 'dulcet' :P
And so the Mr-one-should-be-fromal-to-girls-CR does have a soft spot for someone huh huh huh? ;)
It was nice reading your account of this sem :) You write well, i hope you keep at it.
Happy blogging. cheers! :D
A thousand thanks for going through the post.Hope I can keep on incessantly with the blessings of the providence.I prepared this one during my internals with lots of things thwarting in my attempt.I don't have a crush on anyone. It's just the male disposition which is the culprit.Sutapa ma'm puts the ventricles of the heart on the vibrator mode.Don't know why??? anyways, thank you again for boosting the morale of a green-horn.
DeleteA mark of a language.this talent of yours must be used for something that is higher than the height of zenith.
DeleteAn ultra large thanks bhaiya for going through in the face of exams & your hectic schedule.
Deleteits make me feel great after reading this blog that if i would have attained my english classes intensly then i would have understood the rest of the 80% which i need to read with a dictionry .
ReplyDeletewell its a great effort by u to express all of your personal and to a some extent official view of chemicals . well i would like to say about mr. g.das that " he has given nothing more than a best and responsible c.r. to us other than this one he has grabbed my whole interest of chemistry with internal too ." and i agree with the rest of the understood view about other teachers .
but still i am much eager to know about the girl whom you like and your inspiration too .
though we have some idea but still we want to listen from your self.
hope we will get it in next post
happy blogging. :-);-)
well OMPRAKASH(wild guess).Happy to get your comment. Happier to know that you appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteAS far as best & responsible CR is concerned,it's completely a hogwash.Beauty lies in the eyes of beholder.Let the girl issue be kept clandestine.Don't urge me to take the skeleton out of the closet.Anyways, thanks for a read!!!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteThanks a lot FARAZ for perusal of this post.I'll leave no stone unturned to acquiesce to your request the next time as QUALITY rather than the QUANTITY is the yardstick of a good piece of writing.anyways sorry BHAI for eating up your colossal time.
